Viral Clean Beauty Worth the Hype
Let’s be real… we've all probably fallen for buying a product just because it went viral on TikTok… and been burned (sometimes literally). So, just because something is viral doesn’t mean it’s actually great or that you even need it. This is why I’ve sifted through every “viral” clean beauty product I could find on the internet and selected the ones I’ve used, loved and think are actually worth the hype. Let’s dive in! You might be surprised to see Haus Labs on the clean beauty list, but it’s actually one of the cleanest foundations on the market (not all products from Haus Labs are clean). Ever since I bought this foundation at Sephora, I haven’t used ANY OTHER of my go-to foundations! I originally got it because of the ingredients and because it’s acne safe, but the finish and coverage is what made me stick with it. This glides on so easily and beautifully simply with just your fingers, and offers buildable medium to truly full coverage (not common in clean beauty). It also has soothing arnica (Lady Gaga, the founder, has rosacea), so it’s perfect for sensitive skin as well, like mine. The shade range is absolutely magnificent - I recommend getting matched at a Sephora if you can, as the shade descriptions I’ve heard have been a little misleading to some. I have notoriously straight (but long) lashes, and I’ve struggled getting them to hold a curl with most mascaras. Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara is the FIRST mascara that’s truly kept my eyelashes curled all day! The formula is wet and easy to apply and reapply (it takes a bit to dry, so you can keep adding coats and refining as you like). RMS Beauty has had its fair share of viral products, as it’s one of the OG clean beauty brands (it was founded in 2009!). This powder blush instantly became a bestseller as soon as it launched and it is loved by beauty creators all over the internet, whether they advocate for clean beauty or not (and that tells you a lot!). This blush will never make you look dull or dry like many powder blushes tend to do; quite the opposite, it will make you look radiant and glowy. Hailey Bieber uses this blush in shade “Chilly” and so, naturally, it went super viral all over and you couldn’t buy it at any Sephora because that particular shade was sold out! I searched and searched for days all around Manhattan to get my hands on it and I’m SO happy I did. Let me tell you. This blush is EVERYTHING. Acne safe, sensitive skin friendly, little goes a long way, looks very natural and dewy on the skin, and amazing shade range (“Chilly” is my go-to, and I have “Poppy” as well, which I tend to mix with “Chilly” often). Kosas Wet Lip Oil

The Kosas Wet Lip oil was the product that made me fall in love with Kosas. I bought it as soon as they launched it (before it went viral on TikTok years later) and I realized this was the best gloss I’ve EVER tried in my life. My opinion hasn’t changed - there are some incredible glosses and lip oils on the market that I love, but nothing beats this Kosas one. It’s plumping, moisturizing, pigmented, super glossy, never sticky and has the most beautiful range of shades (my favorites are “Jaws”, “Undressed”, and “Jellyfish).
